Patricia Delponti Macchione, PhD from the University of La Laguna. Degree in Social Communication (Journalism) and Specialized Teacher in Foreign Language (English). She is an active member of DIRCOM, CALIMA RED and the Instituto de Estudios Canarios, among other entities of cultural interest.

Professional Experience

For more than 20 years, and during her time as associate professor at the ULL, she has combined her academic and research activity with extensive professional experience in private enterprise and also in public entities, in the area of corporate communication and public relations. She worked for almost 10 years as Director of Communication and Image at Loro Parque Group, where she developed and executed several communication and media coordination projects, as well as TV series productions and specialized marketing training. She was also the Head of Institutional Communication of the Santa Cruz City Council and of the City Brand of the municipality; and lecturer in higher education in other private universities and vocational training centers. She is currently the PI of the Research project of the 2019 Call of the ULL entitled: Measurement of the load of values, transmitted by fiction series of “on demand” platforms, and its pedagogical use in secondary education.

Academic Experience

She is currently a professor in the Degree of Journalism and in the Master of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the ULL. She also holds the academic position of Director of the Secretariat of Quality, Innovation and Training of the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation, Quality and Anchieta Campus. She has also served as Coordinator of the Professional Modules of the Master’s Degree in Teaching and is also a member of the Communication Classroom of the ULL.

LATEST PUBLICATIONS

She is the author of several academic publications and conference papers on institutional communication, audiovisual semiotics, teaching innovation and public relations, which appear in different scientific journals. She has participated in the work team of an R+D+i project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain: “Communication and journalism for citizen participation.
